11/17/2020 Strategies for Success for Youth with Complex Needs and the NC Education System

This session will provide an overview of what is working to help young people with complex needs to be successful and remain in school.

Presenter: Dr. Whitney Griffin

Learning Objectives:

  1. List common challenges in the education setting;
  2. Identify interventions in the school setting that are helpful in facilitating learning and decreasing undesirable behaviors and crisis;
  3. Describe school/parent engagement that leads to a successful learning environment for the child;
  4. Identify school personnel and key behavioral health staff (within and outside of the school) that need to be a part of the IEP process or other school planning.
