This two-hour training will help community-based mental health teams anticipate and intervene with participants who are navigating challenging situations that are impacting their housing. Through a discussion of concrete scenarios and possible interventions, participants will leave with specific tools for assessing and addressing needed housing supports. The target audience for this training is Community Support Team staff – team leads, qualified professional, substance abuse professionals, associate professionals, paraprofessionals, and peer support specialists
- Identify primary areas where supports and psychiatric rehabilitation skills can help prevent difficulties with tenancy
- Learn to utilize assessment tools and skills for prevention of tenancy issues
- Determine targeted interventions when tenancy issues arise
- Develop a comprehensive plan to prevent tenancy issues moving forward
