Micro to Marco Children's Behavioral Health Conference: Navigating NC's Systems of Care 2024

Micro to Macro System of Care Conference logoNC’s child behavioral health systems of care are influenced by several factors that determine both the type and quality of services provided to NC children and families. These factors include the policies that govern NC service provision; the research that informs those policies and practices; and the sociocultural challenges that impact the daily lived experiences of NC families and communities. To recognize that NC currently has a larger need for child behavioral health services than our system has the capacity to provide, means that careful attention must be paid the well-being of not just the children themselves, but also the individuals tasked with meeting their behavioral health needs.

The recent mental health crisis has heightened the need for quality treatment, prevention and intervention services that support NC children and families struggling with mental health and substance use challenges. With such a strong emphasis and attention being placed on the needs of client populations, often times the needs of the providers and the organizations providing those resources and supports are frequently overlooked. This session will provide teams from behavioral health service organizations and agencies the opportunity to engage in training aimed to improve their collective understanding of organizational resilience and well-being. Over the course of three days, behavioral service teams will engage in learning activities, group discussions and team building exercises focused on the social, emotional and relational factors that negatively affect organizational dynamics. At the end of the session, each team will develop an “organizational resilience and well-being” implementation plan to take back to their organization.
