This training will cover key concepts and clinical strategies needed to effectively assess and treat adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Participants will learn about the definition, prevalence, and risk factors of co-occurring disorders, as well as the challenges clinicians face in diagnosing and treating these conditions. It will also include an exploration of evidence-based treatment approaches such as integrated care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and pharmacotherapy. Interactive case studies and group discussions will provide hands-on experience, allowing clinicians to apply the concepts learned and share best practices. By the end of the 2 day session, participants will be equipped with effective strategies for improving treatment outcomes for clients with co-occurring disorders.
