Registration is free, but participants must pre-register for this training. We will confirm your registration by email. Registrants are required to submit at least one question for the speaker to discuss during Part 2 of the training on 9/26/23.

The North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services is sponsoring a series of webinars to support workforce development for systems that interact with, support, and provide treatment for persons who have mental illness co-occurring with an intellectual/developmental disability.  The webinars will cover the most common challenges in providing effective care to this population. Puberty is a tumultuous time filled with hormonal, physical, and cognitive changes. Dually diagnosed children should be afforded sexual health support that fits their level of understanding and unique needs. Parents, healthcare professionals, and teachers should have resources available to ensure they are prepared to address sexual health promotion, typical sexual behavior as well as problematic sexual behavior. Trainees will have an opportunity to explore the three levels of sexuality and the messages they received during childhood. A short article is required to be read prior to the training on 9/12/2023.

This training will occur as a two-part series. You must attend both sessions in this series to receive a certificate with contact hours.
