Peer Support Recovery-Oriented Language

The Recovery-Oriented Language course explores the concepts of shame and stigma by delving into the use of language and how it impacts peers and the context of the society you offer support in. Many of the concepts help orient peers transform their language from a place of shame to a place of overcoming. By taking this course, you will be equipped with a toolset to help other peers empower themselves through words and what they mean.

  • Understand recovery-oriented language.
  • Understand how ACE’s impacts arrested development.
  • Understand how recovery-oriented language creates opportunity for recovery and healing.
