North Carolina DHHS Person-Centered Planning Guidance Document

The Division of Mental Health Developmental Disabilities and Substance Use Services (DMHDDSUS) has developed new guidelines for Person-Centered Planning (PCP) process. The Guidance Document went into effect November 1, 2023. Guidance focuses on self-advocacy and individual and families’ desire for change and creates a new emphasis on self-determination and choice for individuals receiving services and supports in our system. The purpose of the PCP Guidance Document 2023 is to support Qualified Professionals to employ the knowledge and skills necessary in the planning and development of accurate and effective PCPs.
