Combined Reframing Language Guide

Reframing language

The Combined Reframing Language GuideĀ  was created by a consortium of organizations dedicated to person-centered and equity-focused supports for marginalized people/groups. It was designed to inspire new thinking and change the way we talk about historically marginalized groups to utilize more respectful, person-centered, and culturally responsive terms. A wide variety of language principles and corresponding examples are shared around mental illness, African American populations, those who are aging, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
