Implementation of Person-Centered Care and Planning: How Philosophy Can Inform Practice

White paper document developed as a part of a SAMHSA-sponsored consensus-building process to further define the principles and practices of PCP. While there is growing consensus around the philosophical commitment to PCP, there remains much confusion about how that philosophy concretely impacts clinical practice. This paper is an early attempt to begin to operationalize what PCP actually looks like in practice in order to promote accountability around its implementation.
