On March 16, 2023, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) released new criteria for the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) treatment model. Many of these changes are significant and will impact how the CCBHC operates on a day-to-day basis. These official Criteria (specifically Criteria 4E) require CCBHCs to provide person- and family-centered treatment planning, including, but not limited to, risk assessment and crisis planning.
